AeroTech Designs Windproof glove
« on: November 11, 2011, 07:12:29 PM »

I saw these in an Email I got from Aerotech Designs, I listed it here under the "wicked deals" board
(link back to that...http://ectrr.com/Gab/index.php/topic,939.0.html)
and I just couldn't refuse the price on these things.  Ordered up a set of them in red. Shipping was super fast especially for a freebee shipping deal. I had them on tuesday after ordering on a Friday night.. not bad  :D

The glove are thin, which to be truthful I was very happy for. It's annoying to me to have all the padding in the palms and such in most bike gloves.  My grips have the padding I need, the added thickness just makes my hands tired faster because I end up Death Gripping everything to feel like I have control. Some of the materials have raw edges at the seams which may not look great, but again doesn't add to thickness or have a funny seam feel like you get with others that roll the edge under just to make it look pritty. I could see them getting caught on something and possibly tearing but honestly, I don't care as it's just a traction surface and I don't think I'd notice it not being there.  :undecided: The traction material feels kinda cheesy, but for the price, they are better than I have seen from big name manufactures.

These things are reasonably warm and do keep the wind off. I have found that when biking the wind is worse than the temps. If you can keep the wind off your body while riding it'll warm up nicely, even without thick insulation, within reason anyway.

THESE THING ARE COMFORTABLE!!  I have yet to wear a pair of "Cycling Glove" that didn't annoy my hands at some point. till these... they are just sweet. They seem to be a thin Neoprene like material with a light fleese like feel on the inside but not that thick pile that is normally associated with fleese. Kinda just a brushed softness  :) No bunched up seams from making a fancy design like I have felt with some other name brand gloves.

Only had them for 2 rides, and both were just mildly chilly so no real clue on colder days, But as long as it's not wet out they are tight enough that a pair of cheapo brown work glove will work over them and be plenty warm enough to around the freezing mark...  These aren't "WINTER GLOVES" but good fall/spring, cool weather, wind proof babies that will keep your digital feeling toasty so you can keep the ride going for hours!!  I'll write up more as the weather gets colder.

For $20 with free shipping.. I give them a 9.5 out of 10... I took off a 1/2 point because their sizing chart is off... I normally wear a large or extra large glove, but I actually measured for the first time ever and their sizing chart said the get a small... SMALL?  I ordered medium and those were a tad tight, ordered a set of large and they are perfect... SO if getting a pair, just order what you normally would get for any other type of glove and ignore their sizing chart...

May your last ride not be, "your last ride"!!
