just some info.....
(cause I started a glass of wine and so I've stopped working on the rim)
so, the reason I'm doing this whole wheel thing is multi purpose...
One, the
stupid Shimano Hub (XT 756) is a
P.O.S. !!!the bearing cup keeps coming loose or tighten every time I install or remove the rear wheel.. ending up in wobble wheel or binding...SO...
new Hope Hub
Two, I blew a few spokes when I sucked up a stick which in turn sucked up the rear derailleur into the wheel, broke 3 spokes, had a few beers when installing new spokes...

and not paying attention I over tightened the spokes and dimpled the rim and hub a tad,
(reason this time when the wine started pouring it was time to stop
) it wasn't bad, been riding on it for almost a yr, but I wanted these P-35's so I waited till they were available...which is
NOW
Three, My Voodoo Canzo 29er has a very small spacing for rear tire width, 2.2 or smaller, I wanted a bit more tire on the ground so by going with this super wide rim I can get a thinner tire to give me a bit more ground contact...
see the difference in widths to what most rims are?
and a final bonus I actually didn't expect..... weight, now these are by no means "weight weenie wheels" but,.....
what the old stock Specialized rim weighed...
what the current Blunts with a crappy Shimmy XT hub..
what the new P-35's with the nice Hope hub weighs
I'll take that weight savings...!!!
