I have a Camelbak Ergo Hydrolock for $5 that is a on/off valve and the bite valve goes on that and I can shut it off when not using it, even when riding.

Oh yeah, it'll turn up once you buy one!!!

Maybe I should have brought it back, it doesn't leak THAT bad, but it can be annoying when you are on the trail and all of a sudden you feel a cold "drip" on your leg.  Takes your concentration away from the trail, that's for sure.

is it one of these Nelgene?  sure you got the blue gummy all the way on? it must over lap past the little plastic pin in the middle... I have seen them where the bite/gummy is just pushed up to it, but not click over and then it will leak.  If it is one of these.. and it is leaking.. and the gummy is correct.. take it back for sure!!  you can get a new gummy there also.. they are like 2 bucks for 2 of them.. guessing it's your whole issue.
