Serfas Kamber Glasses.

I just have to write about the Serfas Glasses. As most of you know I just had a kinda major crash resulting in a face plant.   The Serfas Kamber glasses took a direct frontal impact with the ground which included about a five foot, facial slide across rocks and gravel. I have broken many a set of sunglasses on much less, but these not only took it, but everything held together 100%. If the lens wasn't so scratched up I could put them on right now.
   There is no question in my mind that other glasses costing much, much, more would have separated the lens from the frame at a minimum, if not something worse like a shattered lens resulting in pieces in my eye.  These things are pretty much bomb proof.!!
  I will never ride with "multi lens" glasses after this because I know that those types would have broken free and I would have been much worse off.

As to them doing the day to day job, they were great. the color and lens setup made them great in all but the darkest lighting conditions. They actually enhance your vision slightly making them better than the standard sun glasses.

and to top it off, they are not one of those overly expensive glasses.

anyway, enough rambling, I give these glasses a 10-out of 10

these are the "photo chromatic" ones,same thing just better lenses  what I'll be getting this time around.

The brown lens is kind of nice... i need something for riding that isn't too dark, especially for later on in the evenings.  I gotta look into these.

ya, they are nice.. actually the pink lens were kinda light... they amp'ed up my vision pretty good.   If you don't mind spending a few extra $$$ they have the photochromatic lens for them too...(which I just saw I posted already  )  but they go to almost clear in the dark... kinda nice when you hit late hours or are riding in open areas mixed with tree cover...  I have a few set from Trashbar that are a few yrs old and I love the quick change darkening lens... (but wont be buying from them again...!!   )

Update... Photochromatic model

Well, since I wiped out my last ones doing a face plant last year I have tried other glasses. I ended up ordering a pair of these in the photocromatic version from my local shop because they are hard to find over the web and the savings isn't enough to bother and always prefer to support the local places when the wallet agrees   

I got to say I'm still in love with these glasses!!   the photochrome ones can get REALLY dark in bright sun and react damn fast. It goes from a light orange color in the shade to an almost dark brown in bright light. They lighten up pretty good too, though at dusk I wish they would get even a tad lighter, but nothing so bad that I'd think of replacing them.  Even though these glasses don't have venting slots they seem to stay clear of fogging pretty well. Not really sure but I think they sit just a tad farther off your face so they get a bit more air flow between your skin and them keeping them clear. They will still fog if it's really humid and you stop or are sweating heavy and stop. but as long as you are moving they keep clear.

They are very comfortable and stay put on my nose and are super compfy at the ears, a place many others have bothered me and given me head aches after an hour or 2 riding.

I have a hard time spending big $$$ on riding glasses because no matter what I'll be replacing them in a short time. The areas I ride aren't "biker friendly" when it comes to keeping up the trails and my face is constantly getting wiped by branches and other vegetation. For $60 these things save my eyes from both twig and sun ray attacks and do it with style and comfort.

again I'll give them 4.5 out of 5
