These tires have good bite, and are light, and roll pretty fast.  They aren't cushy. I give a 9 out of 10.

I just got a set of Maxxis Ignitors for the 29er. they have plenty of traction, good climbing grip for sure. reasonably light. About the only thing I can say that bothers me is stopping.  they don't want to.  They slide much more than I used to when hitting the brakes.. maybe the tires I got ( they were used, though lightly) the front seems fine but for the back...?

I do like the sidewall/end grip.  the y do real well when on the trail that's cutting along a ledge or side of a hill.

You may want to try reversing them and see if you like it better.. I used to ride the velociraptors which were single direction, they were great for their time but slid on climbs a lot. I once reversed the rear and the results were great. I have no clue if it will work or not but mind as well try

ya, I thought about it.. but I just STAN's them.. sooo.. don't want to deal with the mess till I get new rim(s) which I'm still hoping we can do sometime before summer.. if my wallet allows..  :undecided:
