I have a Canon mini-dv camera that can accept a external lens, want to get a good quality bullet lens to mount on my helmet and suggestions that wont break the bank?

yea.. Ive seen them for $279. im going to see if I can buy it directly through my bike shop and save some money. Ive read good things about them . plus the lack of wires seems like a great idea
I was looking at the Gopro as well.. but it seems like such a huge unit to have.. its nice to be able to have a display screen though. The pov is awesome as well bbut i dont have the $500 to shell out.
Im pissed cause i bought the mount for my flip video.. but my flip doesnt have the hole on the bottom to mount it.. I would have been more that happy to use that

Not totally related but here is a little video of my riding with the Flip Camera mount on my helmet but I am using my own camera.

How do you embed a video on this site?

Bahhhhhhh WOOPS!!! :bahha: that was good....

you can't embed a video ..YET.. there is a plug -in I was going to use but with the forum software being close to getting the new version out I didn't want to have things that would brake down the road. I think they are talking april-ish for the new version and a month or so after for the plug-in to be all safe...

funny stuff... i was thinking of mounting my camera on the flip mount.. i am just afraid of damaging the camera if a fall should happen.

how was it? did it seem sturdy enough.. id hate to mess up my camera

Holds up nicely.  The risk you take with any external mounting is that one fall that screws it up royally.
