New ECTRR logo?

OK, I have had a few Ideas for a new Logo... one myself and another has a chain ring spinning around the earth with the east coast showing... the classic "saturn rings" look Our buddy Dirt Dog whipped out the rings one..

then just today I got this image popping into my head... what do ya all think?  Now I know his is "cleaner" so it's not all about which one "looks" better but what design to go with ( I'm hoping to get him to clean this one up also  )

I'm actually kinda leaning toward the guy holding the bike one...  the "chain ring" thing is kinda over played!!

OK, one more guy with the bike one before I give up and go back to the earth/chain ring thing....

Don't get me wrong.. I really do like the earth ones.... just we are supposed to be a more "localized" forum and it might give the wrong idea with the WHOLE earth in the logo.. do we care? not really... that and like I said before... the chain ring thing is soo over played for MT sites....   Oh well... going back to the other one now to work on it...  hey? anyone else got ideas? something totally diff?

cause we really want to cover more than just the tri state area... Mass, NY, CT, RI, NJ, etc... or at least not alienate them, even down to FLA if someone would join    will probably be only the northern east coast but who knows what the future will bring..  I hear VA has some SWEEEEEETTT trails there.. hmmmm maybe we should do a "class" trip!!!  but that's a little off topic.

Then what about using the East Coast from Maine to Florida surrounded by the chainring. Could be a possibility no?

yup.. it's just drawing something that actually looks like the "east coast"  pushing my digital art knowledge & abilities!!   

also... don't get me wrong here I had a similar idea myself, but like I have stated before... if you look around the web at bike related sites the "chainring" thing is kinda heavily used.  Not that I totally against it, just if we can get something a little more original it would be great..

my little twist to the same basic theme as you are thinking was to have the "saturn rings" look of the chain ring around the east coast with a bikier riding down one side of the ring... kinda banking around the corner position... got the idea?

instead of a chainring maybe tread marks or a tire or using the east coast as a bike frame or a chain around the east coast with a biker riding on it just a few more more suggestions to think about.

Master Llama: Why did the little man with the bike shrink?
Reminds me of the scene in Spinal Tap (the movie) where the stage props are too small and they have to hire dwarfs to make the props look bigger. 

I'd like to see that dude with bike bigger than the original version.  JM2C.

ya, like the tread mark thing


the guy didn't get smaller... everything else got bigger!!      

the bike gets lost in all the rays.. like it better with him and it all in the middle on the sun where it's a dark contrast.... he actually seems to stand out more being smaller!!

like the idea of the chain too.. but one thing we all have to keep in mind is that a "logo" needs to be seem simply in any size from small little images in the upper corner of a Biz card or letter head to a big poster.
