well, As some from other sites well know I had an issue with a set of Truvativ FireX cranks
After much harassment I got a hold of someone over at Sram who not only took care of me but sent me a brandie new set of Stylo's to replace my FireX's!!

After earlier replacing the fireX's with Shimano's LX set ( which by the way cost more than the Stylos, even when both are on sale) I took the Shim's off and installed the Stylos. So I got to ride the bike with all 3 cranks but I wont even go on about the FireX's... just don't!!
**first off the stylo's are lighter... but not by much.
**The shimano's LX would probably be easier to install correctly by the average rider because the Stylo's need to be torqued much higher and you have to keep the crank from turning while doing it because the bolt is into the bottom bracket/bearing tube where the Shim's just have 2 smaller bolts from either side of the crank arm..
** The Truvativ Bearing system is a bit nicer in my opinion. the Shim's "drag" do to a tighter bearing seal, and yes it's noticeable. the truvativ GIGAPIPE system is a little slipperier I guess is the word though will probably get dirt inside faster... so it's a trade off on lasting, more drag... it's your choice... personally I'll replace the bearings every year to get rid of the drag! :P
** Not that it really matters much, but I think the Stylo's look better also....
OK, the final.. well I'll stick with the Stylos... it is close, but then jumping up to Shimanos higher end items really don't give you much more over either ( though the XTR's are Swwweeeeettt looking, but is bling worth $200 more

)
If you are looking for high(er) end cranks you are not going to beat the Stylo's in the price-performance. If you got a bottomless wallet. got get XTR's but in the price range of the LX or XT.. the Stylos is more than comparable!!
