Chainlove.com and other discount sites.

Not sure if you guys are aware of this site, I have become quite addicted to this one.... and the others that are related to it.
They will list an item for sale for a certain amount of time, certain sizes, limited quanties... when those items are out or the time runs out, they move on.

www.Chainlove.com - MTB items
www.Bonktown.com - road bike stuff
www.steepandcheap.com - hiking, outdoorsy stuff
www.tramdock.com - skiing and snowboarding, winter stuff
www.whiskeymilitia.com - random things, skater stuff too.

They are all part of Backcountry.com - these items on the sites I mentioned above generally are items that haven't sold on Backcountry, so they generally discount the heck out of them.  I bought items from them and had no issues so far.

How could I forget Woot!!!   I just got my daughter a Recaro car seat off that site... today was her first test-ride in it.

Other than that, I don't know of any "auction" type sites.  I have a bunch of other online-stores that I have dealt with though.

No, they have a lot of random stuff on there... but I would say "mostly" electronics.  When its a woot-off (many items per day), you'll see lots of items; knife sets, mouse pads, even bacon flavored salt.

seen a lot of bike shorts and that kinda stuff there, it seems they get that stuff at the end of a season... bet you'll start seeing insulated stuff soon there

I got a pair of Fox Mid Ranger shorts on there for about $38 shipped.  Then a Fox and a Dakine jersey.  My wife hates those sites, LOL!
